Christmas time in Jerusalem

December 2025 I was in Jerusalem for a few days. I would be getting home to the States a few days before Christmas. Before going I prepared for Christmas on returning for our family party. This is how Christmas started for me this year. Not much about Christmas was happening except for maybe the Christmas music on the radio and lights with decorated trees were starting to pop up in the neighborhood. So, going to Jerusalem this time of year was very exciting but not sure how much Christmas I would see. To my excitement and surprise there was plenty to see. The statistics of Christianity in Israel and specifically Jerusalem in 2025-2026 is this; Total Christian population in Israel is 182,000-185,000. 13,000-15,000 in Jerusalem specifically with 75% of the population is Arab Christians. The highest concentration in the state of Israel is in Nazareth, Haifa, and Jerusalem.(Google Search AI) Here are the things I saw!

At the entrance of New Gate. One of the 8 gates today to enter the grotto or Old City Jerusalem! Of course one of the gates is sealed.

This is the Official Jerusalem Santa! He is officially certified as the Santa for Jerusalem. We talked about the States and he had been in each of our States! The other sweet ladies are my friends from class!

I just wanted to plug this picture in because it is a Christmas picture. Not from Jerusalem but from Egypt. This is located in the courtyard of the Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church in Old Cairo. More to come about this amazing church!
