Steps lead into the historic Jewish cemetery in the Kidron Valley, a serene expanse of stone tombs under a cloudy sky. This cemetery, East of Jerusalem's old city, is home to a large and historically significant Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives. This cemetery has been in use for thousands of years. Graves dates back to the time of King David. It is considered the largest and most sacred Jewish cemetery in the world.

Along the path has been placed quotes of the Bible that help us learn what happened here during the time of the prophets; Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Melchizedek blesses Abram in this Valley!

This particular grave is a memorial plaques for Yaakov Tzuri. He was born in Jerusalem January 8, 1934 and died at the age of 8 on April 6, 1942. It mentions that his original plaque was destroyed by enemies and that it was installed in 2019 by his brothers and their families. It also honors his parents, Esther and Aaron Tzuri. (According to information generated by Google AI, June 14, 2025, when downloaded a picture taken in Jerusalem 2022.)

On the trail we start seeing ancient tombs. This particular popular tomb is called Absalom's Pillar. This is a rock cut tomb, meaning it is solid rock, which is associated with Absalom in the Bible. He was the rebellious son of King David.

The tomb of Pharaoh's Daughter is another rock cut tomb in the Kidron Valley. The tomb is on the top right of the photo. It is historically associated with the Pharaoh's daughter. According to tradition, she married King Solomon. Archaeology brings light to this tomb. They found that it is a tomb from the second temple period  that was most likely used by a Judahite official. (According to information Google AI. It's information was found on the Biblical Archaeology Society website.)
